This Privacy Policy explains what information BumpReminder (the "Service") collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. The Service is a Discord bot and related website operated by MrShveyk ("we", "us", or "our"). By adding the bot to a Discord server or using our website, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who is responsible
MrShveyk is the operator (data controller) of the Service. You can reach us at [email protected], on Discord ( mrshveyk ), or in our support server.
2. What we collect
We try to keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the Service.
Server data (from Discord). When the bot is added to a server, we store information needed to provide reminders, including:
- Server (guild) IDs, channel IDs, role IDs, and message IDs;
- Configuration you set (custom messages, timers, enabled bump services, language);
- Timestamps related to bumps and cooldowns.
User data. Discord user IDs of members who interact with the bot or who configure it (for example, when running a slash command). We do not collect the content of unrelated messages and we do not read DMs that are not addressed to the bot.
Dashboard / website data. If you sign in with Discord on our website, we receive the data you authorize via OAuth (typically your Discord ID, username, avatar, and the list of servers where you can manage the bot). We use short-lived tokens and session cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you logged in and to protect against CSRF/abuse.
Local preferences. Your browser may store small non-identifying values (theme, language) in localStorage so the site remembers your choices. These stay in your browser.
Log data. When errors occur or the Service is abused, we record technical information such as message and server IDs involved, timestamps, the configuration in use, and IP addresses associated with web requests. Logs are kept only as long as needed to debug and protect the Service.
3. How we use it
- To provide the Service (send reminders, run commands, render the dashboard);
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service (debugging, fighting abuse, capacity);
- To communicate important changes via the support server or in-product notices;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example, the GDPR/UK GDPR), we rely on performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interest in operating a safe and reliable Service, and your consent where applicable.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We share data only:
- With Discord, because the Service runs on Discord and necessarily transmits messages and configuration through its APIs;
- With our hosting and infrastructure provider, which stores data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and security commitments;
- If we add analytics or error-monitoring tools in the future, we will list them here before enabling them and, where required by law, ask for your consent;
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Service.
5. International transfers
The Service is operated from a single region and our servers may be located outside your country. By using the Service you understand that data may be transferred to and processed in such locations, with safeguards reasonable for the type of data involved.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep server configuration and timer data for as long as the bot is in your server and the Service is active. If the bot is removed from a server, related configuration and timers may be retained for a short grace period (typically up to 30 days) so that re-adds are seamless, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
You can ask us to delete data we hold about you or your server at any time by emailing [email protected] from an address you control, or by reaching us in the support server. Requests are usually handled within 30 days. Some information may be retained where required by law or for fraud and abuse prevention.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to certain uses, and to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details above.
8. Children
The Service is intended for users who meet Discord's minimum-age requirement (13 years, or higher where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses only what is necessary for it to work: an OAuth state cookie during sign-in and small localStorage values for theme and language. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this Policy and request consent where the law requires it.
10. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data, including access controls and encrypted transport. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security; please use a strong Discord account password and keep your devices safe.
11. Links to other sites
The Service may link to third-party sites and services that we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to read.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date below will change, and material updates will be announced in the support server (for example, in the announcements channel). Continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective means you accept the updated Policy.
13. Contact
